Beat Cop Chicago Blue: Recollections of a "Street Grunt"

Though always popular, television shows and movies about law and order do not provide the true story of what it's like to catch a criminal, to walk the beat every day, to be a part of that thin blue line between peace and criminal mayhem. Ben Celano and his fellow officers know what that life is really like, and in book two of his Beat Cop: Chicago Blue series, he gives readers a chance to see the world from their point of view. With twenty-two years of experience patrolling one of the busiest areas in Chicago, Celano can give you a real glimpse into what you don't see on TV and what it's truly like to walk the streets in a beat cop's shoes. These stories are grisly, gritty, and sometimes hard to swallow. But they are absolutely true. Passed down through oral storytelling from officer to officer, these tales will allow you to recognize how much your local police officers are doing to protect you and your loved ones every day of their lives.
