Sandra received a Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from Central Missouri State University. She taught at colleges in Ohio and New York. In New York, she wrote humorously informative columns for the Officer’s Wives’ Club newsletter, in which some of the poems in this collection were previously published. For many years, she and her husband, Bill Wayne, operated a bed and breakfast in her great-grandfather’s circa 1867 farmhouse in Warrensburg, Missouri and traveled extensively in the Northeast and Southwestern United States. Sandra Sue Wayne, also an award-winning photographer, used lan-guage to capture moments and feelings like images that are accessible for all ages. She died in August 2020 and this collection of short poems manifests her life-inspiring vision of the basic beauty of time and place, love and loss – keen, playful, poignant and ageless.
