Description
Under the authority of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980, as amended, and pursuant to the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan, the Department of the Interior has been delegated the responsibility for undertaking response actions with respect to the release or threat of release of oil, petroleum products, hazardous substances that pose a threat to human welfare.
