Description

Hindu in the Mindu Midwest is the personal narrative of the spiritual quest of a woman who lives in the Midwest. She was born into the Baptist faith, although her mother braided her hair in the style of a child in India. After sampling a yoga class as a teenager, she embraced Hinduism as her religion of choice, finding it to be supportive of her love of her native landscape, and the plants and animals who reside there. Hinduism, in a form she understands as a Midwesterner, has proven to be more satisfying to her in answering the questions she has about the universe and our place in it, than the Christianity she grew up with.
