Christy’s quest is to become the best junior rider in America by winning the top annual national equitation championship, the McClay medal. From age three to eighteen, she discovers through trial and error what it takes to become a superb rider. She has to learn to deal with all kinds of horses, training techniques, choices of trainers, troublesome weather, the complexities of competition and horse showing challenges.
