Description
Invasive exotic species fragment native ecosys-tems, displace native plants and animals, and alter ecosystem function. Invasive species are second only to habitat loss as threats to global biodiver-sity (Scott and Wilcove 1998) and represent one of the most serious threats to natural ecosys-tem integrity (National Research Council 2002).
