The overall purpose of this book is to provide a realistic way to extricate ourselves from the environmental problems we face. In order to accomplish this task it identifies the nature of these problems and goes onto offer some solutions. “IT’S TIME” 2nd edition is roughly comprised of four parts. The first part of the book examines the underlying social/economic drivers that have produced our environmental plight. It then considers how some other societies have responded successfully or unsuccessfully to a deteriorating environment. The third part looks into the efficacy and possibilities for deployment of a number of technical environmental remedies. The last part suggests some structural changes to our society which would mitigate the underlying causes that gave rise to this problem.
