Description
Situated on the bed of former Glacial Lake Wisconsin and the Great Central Wisconsin Swamp, the land in and around Necedah National Wildlife Refuge once a case peat bog with low, wooded islands and sevannas. Higher sand ridges were filled with mature stands of pine and other species.
