Timothy Mounce, Ph.D. was born on Halloween: October 31, 1974, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, and grew up in nearby Ecru. Following graduation from Ole Miss in 1998, he began teaching mathematics and physical education, coaching, and driving bus routes at rural Mississippi schools. He began coaching high school soccer, soon adding on tennis, basketball, and golf. His coaching career included a golf State Championship in 2001. After moving to North Carolina in 2010, he rapidly ascended to associate professor on the collegiate level.
