Their preservation is an essential component of maintaining the biodiversity of our forests and their protection is mandated under British Columbia’s new Forest and Range Practices Act, enacted in 2004. This book explains what wildlife trees are and how they are used by 66 species of birds and mammals resident in British Columbia. It is designed for anyone with a professional or avocational interest in BC forests, from foresters and government planners to naturalists and woodlot owners to public policy advocates.
